Telltale Games Inc.
Website, Interactive Navigation, Marketing Collateral and Website Advertisement Design
A new upstart Bay Area company called Telltale Games Inc., comprised of many
Lucas Arts veterans, hired Lion Associates to create their new innovative
website.
The design challenge was to create a website that would present Telltale
Games as the interactive gaming equivalent of a broadcast television
channel. Currently, most video games are sold as physical products through
retail outlets and online retailers. However over time, the primary
distribution model is shifting to downloading. To capitalize on this Telltale
Games was developing and planned on publishing multiple video game series
based upon popular stories and characters in an episodic fashion.
To help them accomplish this, Lion Associates designed Telltale Games'
website so that the front end of the site and product pages are
interactive and flash-driven, creating an interactive broadcast effect.
Users are able to interact with this feature now dubbed the "Flexible Media
Area" in a manner similar to a television. Other notable features include a
fully interactive navigation system complete with animation and audio
effects, animated banner ads helping visitors become aware of upcoming and
present products, and a design which was flexible enough to accommodate many
different types of pages.
Troy Molander, Chief Operations Officer of Telltale Games says, "Lion
Associates approached the initial design of our site with thoroughness and
professionalism. Throughout the implementation they remained flexible and
incredibly responsive to the evolving content requirements of our site. The
dedication and commitment to a top-notch end product made us feel like Lion Associates
was an extension of our own company. They truly turned our website into a
presence to be proud of."
Since the launch of their new site, Telltale Games have continued to grow
and prosper, creating alliances with such on-line heavy weights as Yahoo
Games, Real, AOL, MSN, IGN, Scholastic and other Publisher/Retailers such as
Ubisoft, Activision and Electronic Arts. |
